I bought this dog toy yesterday for my cairn terrier on a visit to Peggy’s Cove. After his supper I gave it to him and he loved it. But after awhile he started whimpering and wanting to go outside where he started furiously eating the cold wet grass and then bringing it up. He was beside himself and in a lot of distress. I checked the nylon rope toy and saw that he had chewed through some of the strands and the ends were very sharp and rough. There was a bit of blood in some of the grass he had brought up. Called Metro Animal Emergency and took him over to the emergency clinic. While we were waiting in the car he seemed to settle so after a bit I let them know I would go home with him and see how it played out. The sharp tufts of the nylon rope had cut the inside of his mouth. The toy was thrown in the garbage. Thank heavens he is recovering. Please do not give one of these to your dog.
