Our 11” Poppy is handmade with red lobster fishing rope and black twine for net making.
Materials that will stand up outside for years to come. The lobster rope Poppy is knot-tied with one of the over 100 Turks’ head knots that have been made aboard ship for centuries. The knot has been adjusted to form the shape of a Poppy in remembrance of those who have laid down their lives for our freedom.
During remembrance, the most recognizable symbol is the poppy red, after scores of flowers bloomed in the former battlefields of Belgium and northern France.
Hang this poppy with thanks to the troops that have fought for our freedom in so many wars.
Acknowledge the war’s fatalities as we commemorate with 2 minutes of silence on Remembrance Day in Canada, Australia and France. Veterans Day in United States and Remembrance Sunday in Britain.
